The 19 year old suspected LulzSec hacker and IRC chat room operator, has been released on bail. Prosecutors tried to appeal the release but were unsuccessful. He was granted bail on the condition he obey a curfew between 9pm and 7am, electronically on “house-arrest” (via a ankle bracelet), and is not allows to access the Internet or posses any devices capable of Internet access; aka NO COMPUTERS or mobile devices.
As you may recall, Ryan Cleary was arrested on June 20th by the Scotland Yard in conjunction with the FBI’s assistance. He is suspected to being a member of the notorious group LulzSec which had been on a 50 day hacking/DDoS’ing spree and making headlines. The charges against him claim he was in possession of and controlled a bot-net that was responsible for some attacks early on. Ryan is also responsible for attacking some of Anonymous’s sites. Obviously the group Anonymous was somewhat giddy of his arrest.
His lawyer remarked that Ryan is cooperating fully with law enforcement – in other words, he’s going to sing like a canary; if he has relevant information to turn over that may lead to further arrests.
Below is a picture of him upon his release.
