Surviving In A Post LulzSec And Anonymous Online World

True, while the group LulzSec may be disbanded and it’s members have either disappeared or been arrested (or arrested even more so), Anonymous is still here and the ideals that Anonymous portrays will probably live on for quite some time. It almost seems like we are back in the early 1990′s – website defacements, denial-of-service attacks and SQL injections being produced on a massive scale.  It’s clear that Anonymous has a following and as long as they do they will have those who will either act on their behalf or thinks they are acting on their behalf. Facebook Hires Geohot

The infamous Playstation 3 and iPhone jailbreaker, George Hotz (Geohot), has confirmed Facebook has hired him. If you remember, Geohot just recently settled with Sony in a lawsuit where they suggested he was infringing upon their copyrights and claimed reverse engineering the Playstation 3 was illegal. The settlement terms were simple:  Geohot agrees to never again to “hack” or reverse-engineer a Sony device and Sony in turn dropped the lawsuit.  Needless to say, Geohot accepted the deal.

Though it’s not entirely known what exactly he will be doing as an employee of Facebook, it has been rumored that he will be working on the Facebook iPad app. Read more »

LulzSec Keeps Busy This Weekend

Since Friday morning, LulzSec has been extremely busy.  On Friday, the began the morning with posting a sort of manifesto on why they do the things they do.  Ultimately they do it for laughs – entertainment and because they believe they can.  They very much think they will get caught in the end, but their “manifesto” has made it clear that just don’t care.
